Exmouth Dinan Way extension opens amid planned A376 disruption

The new Dinan Way extension in Exmouth is scheduled to open on Wednesday, September 9. While the 800-metre road will begin carrying traffic in and out of the town, motorists should expect significant disruption through the end of the year as the final phase of the project is completed.

A section of the A376 between Courtlands Cross and Courtlands Lane will close to through traffic to allow for the completion of a new roundabout. Additionally, overnight closures are scheduled at Courtlands Cross from 7pm to 6am on September 7 and 8 for preparatory work.

To manage congestion, Devon County Council has implemented a series of temporary one-way routes and diversions via Hulham Road and the new Dinan Way extension. Bus routes 57 and 96 will be temporarily suspended between the Hulham Road junction and the A376 closure from September 9 until December 4. While most residents may continue to park on the road, certain parking restrictions will be in place near Hulham Road stores and at the A376 junction to facilitate footway widening and manage narrow road sections. Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) with extra-wide loads are advised to use the A3052, B3180, and B3179 routes instead of the diversion paths.
