Expedia Group to cut 58 high-level jobs in Seattle

Expedia Group is cutting 58 positions at its Interbay headquarters in Seattle, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filed with the Washington Employment Security Department. The layoffs are scheduled to occur between November 21 and December 1.

The affected roles include high-level positions in data science, engineering, finance, and senior leadership. Specifically, the cuts impact data scientists, software development engineers, finance managers, tax directors, and several vice presidents and senior vice presidents.

These reductions follow previous restructuring efforts at the company. Earlier in 2026, Expedia eliminated 162 positions in Washington. Company leadership has previously indicated that advancements in artificial intelligence are allowing the travel company to streamline operations and transition toward smaller, faster teams.
