Expedition cruise lines expand Asia-Pacific itineraries

Expedition cruise operators Pearl Expeditions and Swan Hellenic are expanding their service offerings across the Asia-Pacific region.

Pearl Expeditions has announced its 2028 calendar for the Paspaley Pearl, featuring increased departures in Australia’s remote north and the Indo-Pacific. The program includes expanded sailings to the Great Barrier Reef, Torres Strait, and Papua New Guinea, alongside new itineraries for Indonesia, Borneo, and the Kimberley. To improve accessibility to remote locations, the company is introducing new charter flight connections from Cairns and Darwin.

Swan Hellenic is doubling its 2027 Asia-Pacific cultural expedition season from five to ten voyages. Operating aboard the SH Minerva, the expanded schedule includes new itineraries in New Zealand and Japan, with calls at Busan, South Korea. The voyages focus on themes of anthropology, nature, and Second World War history, covering regions such as the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, and Raja Ampat.
