Expedition Cruise Operators Launch New Small-Group Yacht and Cultural Programs

Secret Atlas is adding a purpose‑designed 36‑guest ice‑class explorer yacht, Aureum, for Antarctic and South Georgia voyages in the 2027‑28 and 2028‑29 seasons. The vessel will carry four Zodiacs, offer 22 cabins, a panoramic lounge, sauna and outdoor hot‑tub, and aims to give guests more time ashore and a less crowded experience than larger expedition ships.

Aurora Expeditions is extending its brand beyond the poles with a 2028 cultural‑expedition program that will visit Europe, the Mediterranean and the British Isles. The new itineraries focus on storytelling, history and active, nature‑based activities such as Zodiac excursions and small hikes, deliberately avoiding the region’s busiest tourist routes. The launch reflects a broader industry shift toward smaller vessels and immersive, educational travel experiences.
