Experian launches cashflow analytics tool for US small business lending

Experian has launched ‘Cashflow Attributes for commercial lenders’ in the United States, a new tool designed to assist financial institutions in evaluating the creditworthiness of small businesses. The solution converts business bank transaction data into more than 500 analytics-ready indicators, such as liquidity, revenue trends, and debt exposure.

By integrating these cash flow insights with traditional commercial credit data, Experian claims the tool can improve predictive power by up to 24% for companies with short credit histories. This development addresses a common challenge in small business lending, where limited credit files often prevent businesses from accessing necessary capital.

The launch follows data from the Federal Reserve Banks’ 2026 Small Business Credit Survey, which indicated that 60% of small businesses sought financing in the previous 12 months, yet many applicants received only partial or no funding. Molly Poppie, Chief Product and Analytics Officer for Experian Financial Services and Data, stated that the tool provides an automated and current view of business operations to help lenders make more informed decisions.
