Experiencia Puerto Rico 2026 summit gathers municipal leaders

The 11th edition of Experiencia Puerto Rico 2026, an international summit for local governments and the private sector, is being held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, from August 23 to 25. The event brings together mayors, chamber of commerce representatives, and international organizations from 31 countries across Latin America and the Caribbean to exchange best practices regarding municipal development and innovation.

Delegations from Honduras and the Dominican Republic are participating to strengthen local management capabilities. Juan Carlos Molina, president of the Association of Municipalities of Honduras (AMHON), emphasized the importance of accessing international experiences to adapt them to Honduran communities. Meanwhile, the Dominican delegation, led by Víctor de Aza of the Dominican Municipal League (LMD), includes officials such as Dajabón Mayor Santiago Riverón Arias.

Key topics of discussion at the summit include digital transformation, the knowledge economy, technology transfer, and the promotion of investment in innovative sectors to drive sustainable municipal development.
