Expert360 to be acquired by Swipejobs for $16 million

Expert360, a white-collar talent marketplace connecting companies with specialist contractors and fractional executives, is being acquired by the AI job-matching platform Swipejobs. The deal reportedly values the Sydney-born enterprise at $16 million.

Despite having raised approximately $30 million since its founding in 2013, the sale structure may leave early investors and the company’s founders with little to no financial compensation. Documents suggest the deal favors holders of Series C and Series C1 preference shares. While entities such as Hyper Capital Startups, Perennial, and UniSuper may receive payouts, major backers like Airtree and Rampersand are believed to hold share tranches that are ineligible for consideration.

Co-founder Bridget Loudon-Harris noted that founders are often the last to be paid in such transactions, stating, “Founders are paid last. That’s the deal you sign, and I’d sign it again.” Expert360 was established by Loudon-Harris and Emily Yue to provide access to professional freelance talent.
