Explora Journeys debuts EXPLORA III in Mediterranean itineraries

Explora Journeys, the luxury brand of the MSC Group, has marked the first call of its new vessel, EXPLORA III, at the Port of Tangier Ville in Morocco. This arrival reinforces the port's strategic role in the brand's Mediterranean itineraries, with nine scheduled calls at Tangier through the end of 2027.

EXPLORA III represents a significant technological advancement for the fleet as the first vessel designed to run on liquefied natural gas (LNG). The ship is also prepared for future use of renewable fuels, such as bio-LNG and synthetic LNG, and features shore power capabilities to reduce environmental impact while docked.

The vessel, built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, recently underwent its official christening in Barcelona. Following its delivery, the ship embarked on a maiden journey through the Mediterranean, accompanied by its sister ship, EXPLORA I. Tennis professional Jannik Sinner, a global brand ambassador for Explora Journeys, was among the first guests on board.
