Explosion at health center and pharmacy in Rotterdam-Oud-IJsselmonde

A loud explosion occurred late Tuesday night at a health center and pharmacy located on Boxbergenstraat near Singravenplein in the Beverwaard area of Rotterdam-Oud-IJsselmonde. The blast caused significant damage to the building, including a heavily damaged window, and damaged a nearby parked car.

A small fire broke out following the explosion, which was quickly brought under control by fire services. Preliminary information suggests a Cobra weapon may have been used. Investigators also discovered a large plastic bottle at the scene that may have contained flammable liquid.

No injuries were reported, and no one was present at the nearby 24/7 pharmacy automated machine at the time of the incident. The suspect reportedly fled on foot toward Molencatensingel. Authorities have cordoned off the area as the investigation into the exact cause continues.
