Explosion in Chihuahua leaves eight people injured

An explosion at a residence in the Pedro Domínguez neighborhood of Chihuahua City has left eight people injured, including five children. The victims, who include the children's parents and a grandparent, sustained second- and third-degree burns.

Emergency responders, including firefighters, Red Cross paramedics, and the State Government Rescue Unit (URGE), attended the scene near the intersection of Del Alamillo and Dolores Pimentel streets. Firefighters worked to extinguish a fire inside the home and secured a 10-kilogram gas cylinder to prevent further danger.

Preliminary investigations by the Municipal Public Security Directorate (DSPM) suggest the blast may have been caused by a gas leak or improper installation. While the specialized fire investigation unit continues to work toward a definitive conclusion, authorities have advised citizens to use specialists for installing gas tanks and heating equipment to prevent similar accidents.
