Koblenz: 12-year-old injured in e-scooter and car collision
A twelve-year-old boy was injured in a serious traffic accident in Koblenz on Saturday evening, October 24, 2026. According to police reports, the boy and another twelve-year-old were riding an e-scooter along a pedestrian path. Upon reaching a staircase, they attempted to ride down a small slope adjacent to the steps and lost control of the vehicle.
The boy positioned at the front of the scooter fell onto the roadway, where he was struck by a car driven by a 51-year-old local resident. While the second boy managed to jump off the scooter in time, the victim required immediate medical attention at the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital. The driver and the second child were uninjured.
Police have secured both vehicles and, in coordination with the Koblenz public prosecutor's office, have ordered an expert report to reconstruct the exact circumstances of the accident. The collision resulted in only minor property damage to both vehicles.
