Explosion leads to house closure and CCTV rollout in Wormer, NL

A nighttime explosion damaged a house on Knollendammerstraat in Wormer, Netherlands, scorching the front door, window frames and part of the façade. The municipality ordered the property to be sealed for six weeks under article 174a of the Municipalities Act, replaced the locks and placed blue stickers on the door.

Locoburgemeester Rick Ossendorp installed two surveillance cameras in the street to enhance public safety. Police recovered remnants of a suspected cocaine package and a blue‑capped bottle at the scene, and graffiti reading “220 cocaine” had been sprayed on the façade before being painted over. The investigation continues, and authorities have asked anyone with information to contact the police hotline.
