Explosives and weapons seized near India-Pakistan border in Rajasthan
Security agencies have seized a consignment of weapons and suspected explosives near the India-Pakistan border in Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar district. The materials were reportedly dropped by a drone from across the border in three separate sorties between midnight and 2 a.m. on Tuesday.
The recovered items include approximately 7 kg of plastic explosives, suspected to be RDX, two Turkey-made Zigana pistols, four magazines, around 650 cartridges, four pairs of batteries, and two remote-control devices. The three packets landed in a field near a canal in the Rawla Mandi area, roughly one kilometer from the Khanuwali border post.
Two men from Punjab, hailing from Jalandhar and Ferozepur, were arrested at the site while allegedly attempting to collect the consignment. Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Inspector General Vikas Kumar stated that the suspects are considered key links in a larger network. A joint operation involving the Border Security Force (BSF), the ANTF, and local police conducted the seizure. Investigations are ongoing to determine the origin of the consignment and its intended purpose.
