Bolivia issues Interpol Red Notice for former Minister Eduardo Del Castillo

Bolivian Prosecutor General José Armando Urioste has activated an Interpol Red Notice against former Minister of Government Eduardo Del Castillo. The move follows investigations into alleged links between Del Castillo and Uruguayan narcotraficker Sebastián Marset.

The legal actions were prompted by the release of an audio recording in which Marset reportedly claims to have paid monthly sums of at least $500,000 to maintain operations in the country. In the recording, Marset allegedly refers to Del Castillo using the alias ‘Sonia’.

In addition to the Interpol alert, the Prosecutor General confirmed that authorities have issued migration alerts and search warrants to locate the former official as part of an ongoing investigation into criminal organizations.
