Expo Center Norte seeks expansion to meet high event demand

Expo Center Norte, located in the northern zone of São Paulo, is facing capacity challenges due to high demand in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) market. Despite an average occupancy rate of approximately 68%, the complex struggles with scheduling constraints caused by the necessary time required for the assembly and disassembly of large-scale events.

Paulo Ventura, director of Expo Center Norte and president of Ubrafe (Brazilian Union of Trade Fairs and Business Events), noted that the facility hosts 96 business fairs and events annually, alongside various congresses and trainings. Because large events require significant intervals between sessions, short windows of availability are often insufficient to host additional programming. This limitation in available dates is driving expansion projects to accommodate growing market demand.
