Expo Cibao reports 20% growth in visitors and operations
The 39th edition of Expo Cibao, held in Santiago, Dominican Republic, has reported a 20% increase in both visitors and commercial operations. President Luis Abinader visited the event, which operates under the theme ‘Unidos por la competitividad’ (United for competitiveness), highlighting its role as a vital platform for connecting large corporations with entrepreneurs to strengthen the economic activity of the Cibao region.
Luis Campos Jorge, president of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce and Production, emphasized that regional competitiveness requires collaboration between the productive sector, government, and academia to improve infrastructure, innovation, and investment conditions. During the event, Claro Dominicana also showcased technological solutions aimed at driving regional innovation and digital connectivity.
President Abinader noted that the fair's success reflects the dynamic productive activity of the northern region. He also announced his upcoming return to Santiago to participate in the final session of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) meeting.
