Expo Construcción 2026 focuses on seismic engineering in Venezuela
The Expo Construcción 2026 has opened in Caracas, Venezuela, featuring over 140 national and international brands across 5,400 square meters at the Centro Comercial Ciudad Tamanaco. The event serves as a technical and commercial hub for the construction sector, with a specific focus on seismic-resistant engineering and structural reconstruction.
This year's edition prioritizes technological solutions and advanced materials to address habitability needs following seismic activity recorded in the country on June 24. Francisco Garcés, Minister of Transport and President of the Presidential Commission for the Evaluation of Infrastructure Habitability, emphasized the importance of strategic alliances to enhance technical response capabilities.
The Commission has developed technical protocols and manuals to guide the inspection and rehabilitation of buildings. Structures classified with yellow or red risk levels require rigorous methodological assessment, with only projects certified by specialists receiving a ‘green label’ for habitability. Additionally, the event offers free technical consultancy from engineers and structural specialists to assist individuals and companies in evaluating damage to facades, masonry, and piping.
