Modena, Carpi, and Sassuolo host nearly 110,000 visitors for Festival Filosofia

The Festival Filosofia attracted nearly 110,000 visitors to the historic centers of Modena, Carpi, and Sassuolo between September 18 and 20, 2026. Data from the Confcommercio Modena Cities Analytics monitor indicates an average growth of over 22% compared to the previous week.

Carpi saw the most significant increase, with visitor numbers rising from 15,200 to 22,000, a 44.7% jump. Sassuolo also experienced growth, increasing from 13,000 to 17,100 visitors. Modena recorded 69,800 visitors, with Saturday being the peak day.

International presence was noted, with over 8,000 foreign visitors. In Modena, the largest groups of international tourists arrived from the United States, the Netherlands, and France.

In Modena, the city hosted celebrations for its UNESCO World Heritage sites, including the Cathedral, Piazza Grande, and the Ghirlandina. The 'Modena Patrimonio Mondiale in Festa' event features music, guided tours, and videomapping shows to promote local cultural heritage.
