Expoagas 2026 to drive R$ 800 million in business in Porto Alegre

The 43rd Gaucho Supermarket Convention, Expoagas 2026, is scheduled to take place in Porto Alegre from August 18 to 20. The event is projected to generate over R$ 800 million in business, featuring 610 confirmed exhibitors. This year's edition has expanded its area by 7,000 m², a 63% increase from the previous version, allowing for new sectorization by segments such as technology, beverages, and produce.

Amidst a growing retail market in Rio Grande do Sul, companies are focusing on loss prevention and automation. Prosegur Cash will showcase the Cash Today Front Office, an automated cash management system designed to secure points of sale and reduce losses. This comes as national retail loss rates have reached 1.65% of turnover and the state of Rio Grande do Sul faces challenges regarding counterfeit currency.

The convention's program includes lectures on artificial intelligence in retail, tax reform discussions with specialists from the Federal Revenue and Sefaz-RS, and panels regarding consumer behavior.
