Expocruz 2026 showcases rising milk production in cattle

The Expocruz 2026 livestock competition has commenced, focusing on milk production contests for Gyr and Girolando cattle breeds. The event features 30 specimens from 11 different ranches, managed by the Bolivian Association of Zebu Breeders (Asocebú).

Recent years have shown a significant increase in milk yields among champion animals. For instance, Girolando production averages have risen from approximately 39.52 kilograms per day in 2021 to over 91 kilograms per day in recent cycles. The competition serves as a showcase for advancements in genetics, nutrition, and specialized animal management.
