Expofacic event sees collection of seven tons of bio-waste

During the 11-day Expofacic event, approximately seven tons of bio-waste were collected and diverted for recovery. This was achieved through awareness and training initiatives conducted by INOVA-EM for food service operators and local associations.

By separating organic waste at the source, the initiative prevented these materials from being mixed with undifferentiated waste. Pedro Cardoso, Chairman of the Board of INOVA-EM, stated that the results demonstrate the effectiveness of selective collection in large-scale events and the importance of reducing the environmental footprint associated with high-attendance gatherings.
