Expointer concludes with R$ 6.2 billion in business transactions
The 49th Expointer, held at the Assis Brasil Exhibition Park in Esteio, Rio Grande do Sul, concluded with approximately R$ 6.2 billion in business transactions, marking a nearly 40% increase compared to the previous year.
The agricultural machinery and implements sector led the commercial volume, accounting for R$ 5.46 billion, or roughly 88% of the total. Other notable sectors included the automotive industry with R$ 668.7 million and animal sales totaling R$ 21.98 million, with the Crioulo horse breed representing over 77% of that segment.
Family farming achieved a record R$ 14.4 million in sales. Despite the economic growth, total attendance saw a slight decline of about 10% to 18% compared to the previous edition, with roughly 909,000 visitors recorded over nine days.
During the event, 12-year-old Kaila Jardim Boettcher gained attention for her quick actions in restraining a runaway horse, preventing potential injury to the public. Additionally, a massive 250 kg pastel was prepared as a culinary spectacle.
