Expointer highlights Holstein and Devon cattle achievements
During the 49th Expointer in Esteio, several members of the Dália Alimentos cooperative and its Nova Bréscia dairy unit were awarded the national ‘Criador Supremo’ (Supreme Breeder) title. This distinction, granted by the Brazilian Association of Holstein Cattle Breeders (ABCBRH), is considered the highest honor for Holstein producers in Brazil.
Recognized members include Adair Baggio, Artur Ziglioli, Everson Bonatto, Leandro Delazeri, Marcio Tomazoni, Tiago Dalla Vechia, and Adilar Malaggi, all participants in the Vale dos Lácteos Program. Veterinarian Luciano Martins Redu noted that the award reflects high standards in milk quality, productivity, and genetic improvement.
In related livestock news, Beth Cirne-Lima has been elected president of the Brazilian Association of Devon Breeders (ABCDB), set to take office in January 2027. A biologist and researcher, Cirne-Lima aims to expand the market for certified Devon beef, which focuses on high-quality, marbled meat for niche markets.
