Expointer hosts major livestock competitions in Esteio
The Expointer event at the Assis Brasil Exhibition Park in Esteio is hosting several major livestock competitions. The 45th edition of the Freio de Ouro features 106 Crioula horses, including 53 males and 53 females, undergoing evaluations for morphology, strength, and functional skills.
In cattle competitions, Cabanha Madrugada achieved significant results in the Angus and Ultrablack breeds. Two two-year-old Ultrablack bulls from the ranch were named grand champions, while their Angus genetics also secured a podium finish in the junior bull category.
Additionally, the sheep competition is focusing on industrial wool quality. Twenty sheep are being evaluated for their fleece characteristics, including fineness, fiber length, and yield after washing. To ensure objective results, wool samples are sent to the Wool Secretariat laboratory in Uruguay for analysis.
