ExpressVPN introduces passkeys and login tokens for Android

ExpressVPN has released version 12.85.0 of its Android application, introducing new authentication methods to enhance security and user convenience. The update adds three primary sign-in options: passkeys, one-time codes sent via email, and login tokens generated through the ExpressVPN+ web portal.

This update marks a strategic shift away from traditional, permanent activation codes. Unlike the previous codes, which did not expire, the new login tokens are generated upon request and expire automatically after a short period. While standard email and password logins remain available under a legacy category, the company is moving toward these modern standards to reduce security risks associated with static credentials.
