ExpressVPN launches Fortify Wi-Fi 6 router

ExpressVPN has launched the Fortify router, a Wi-Fi 6 AX6000 model designed to replace its retired Aircove and Aircove Go product lines. Built on the GL. iNet Flint 2 platform, the new hardware features a 2.0GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of DDR4 memory, and 8GB of eMMC storage.

The Fortify router offers significant performance improvements over its predecessor, supporting VPN throughput of up to 900 Mbps on WireGuard, compared to the 330 Mbps seen on the Aircove. It utilizes a 4x4 MU-MIMO layout and can support up to 86 concurrent devices, with dual-band speeds reaching 1148 Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and 4804 Mbps on the 5GHz band.

Priced at $199, the router includes 12 months of ExpressVPN’s Advanced service. While the Aircove line is being retired from sale, ExpressVPN will continue to support existing Aircove owners through 2027 and Aircove Go owners through 2028, while also offering a 20% discount on the Fortify model for these customers.
