Extrejam initiative to host intensive video game creation event in Almendralejo

The second edition of ‘Extrejam’ will take place in Almendralejo, organized by the Incubadora de Realidades Inmersivas de Almendralejo (IRIA) and supported by FUNDECYT-PCTEX. The program is designed to teach the fundamentals of video game development to participants regardless of their prior technical experience.

The initiative begins with a series of free online training sessions held on Tuesdays, covering disciplines such as design, Unity programming, digital art, and project direction. The program culminates in a three-day in-person game jam from November 13 to 15 at the Palacio del Vino in Almendralejo.

During this intensive period, participants will work collaboratively in teams to transform an initial idea into a playable prototype. The event aims to bring together diverse profiles, including programmers, designers, artists, and musicians, to foster knowledge exchange and practical experience in the gaming industry.
