Extremadura launches Extremestiza to boost ties with the Americas
The Junta de Extremadura has launched Extremestiza, a transversal strategy designed to leverage five centuries of historical, cultural, and social ties between Extremadura and the Americas to foster future collaboration. The initiative aims to transform shared history into modern opportunities for education, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Extremestiza operates across ten specific areas of action, including education, historical research, gastronomy, music, art, and female leadership. The program seeks to connect classrooms, institutions, and professionals through various projects, such as educational curricula, podcasts, and economic forums.
The initiative focuses on strengthening bilateral relations with several countries, including Peru, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, and Bolivia, by promoting shared talent and cultural corridors.
