Extremadura launches fifth edition of university startup incubator

The Junta de Extremadura and the University of Extremadura have launched the fifth edition of ‘La Pre-incubadora’, a program designed to transform university and vocational training projects into viable businesses. The initiative targets students, recent graduates, and researchers, encouraging the commercialization of academic work such as theses and final degree projects.

Previous participants have developed diverse technologies, including artificial intelligence for pig farm management, neurorehabilitation platforms, and veterinary dermatology services. The current call for applications offers prizes of 2,500, 1,500, and 1,000 euros for the top three projects, concluding with a networking event to foster professional alliances. The deadline for submissions is October 4.
