Extremadura Medals gala to feature enhanced security in Mérida

Approximately one hundred security and emergency personnel will be deployed for the Extremadura Medals gala, scheduled for September 7 at the Roman Theatre in Mérida. The security operation includes members of the National Police, Civil Guard, Local Police, Civil Protection, Red Cross, and 112 emergency services, supplemented by private security and an Advanced Command Post.

The event is expected to draw significant interest due to a performance by the musical group Sanguijuelas del Guadiana, who will participate in the institutional ceremony and perform a free concert afterward. Security details were finalized during a meeting led by the Government Delegate in Extremadura, José Luis Quintana, to ensure a coordinated and rapid response to any eventualities during the celebration.
