Extremadura moves ahead with Badajoz and Cáceres ring‑road segments
The Junta de Extremadura’s Council of Government approved a €44.7 million contract to build the second 4.6‑kilometre segment of the Ronda Sur ring road around Badajoz. The new stretch will link the Valverde de Leganés road (EX‑310) with the Olivenza road (EX‑107) and join the already‑opened third segment, including a bridge over the Guadiana River and several grade‑separated crossings.
In the neighbouring province of Cáceres, officials inaugurated the second segment of the Ronda Sureste bypass. The ceremony, captured in a photo gallery, marked the continuation of the southeastern ring road project aimed at improving traffic flow around the city.
Both projects are part of a broader effort by the regional government to upgrade road infrastructure in Extremadura, enhancing connectivity for local communities and supporting economic development.
