The Extremadura region of Spain offers diverse culinary and historical experiences, particularly in Almendralejo and the province of Cáceres.

Almendralejo serves as the capital of the Ribera del Guadiana D.O., hosting 12 wineries with over 40 brands. The local gastronomy is characterized by traditional dishes such as 'migas tierra de Barros'—made with day-old bread, bacon, and dried peppers—often paired with local cava. Other regional staples include high-quality ham and tomato soup with black grapes.

In the northern part of Cáceres, the area around Zarza de Granadilla and the Ambroz Valley provides a landscape shaped by both nature and ancient history. The region retains significant Roman influence, stemming from the construction of the Vía de la Plata, a major road in the ancient province of Lusitania. Nearby ruins, such as those in Cáparra, highlight the area's historical importance dating back to the 1st century B.C.
