Extremadura officials secure potential industrial projects in China
The regional government of Extremadura has concluded a nine-day institutional mission to China, resulting in confidentiality agreements for three potential industrial projects in the region.
According to Guillermo Santamaría, the Minister of Economy, Employment, and Digital Transformation, the agreements involve companies specializing in artificial intelligence for the agri-food sector, automotive electronics, and the electric vehicle value chain. While the specific names of the companies remain confidential, the entities involved represent approximately 37,000 workers and generate tens of billions of euros in revenue.
The mission included visits to seven cities and the signing of three memorandums of understanding with economic and business organizations in Chongqing, Anhui, and Shanghai. These agreements aim to establish stable frameworks for collaboration and facilitate investment opportunities in Extremadura by highlighting the region's land availability, energy capacity, and logistical infrastructure.
