Extremadura PP touts political stability and record 2026 budget

People's Party (PP) spokesperson Luis Miguel Núñez said the regional government has moved from "empty announcements" to concrete projects. He highlighted the approval of the 2026 Extremadura General Budget, amounting to €8.854 billion, as evidence of political stability and swift governance.

Núñez pointed to economic gains such as the lowest unemployment rate in the region's history, a record number of Social Security affiliates, and a 5 % rise in business confidence since 2023. He also cited increased foreign investment and ongoing infrastructure work, including the second phase of the Hospital Universitario de Cáceres, renovations at the Hospital Materno Infantil de Badajoz, free education for children aged zero to three, and new housing measures like the youth guarantee, rent vouchers and protected‑housing promotion.
