Extremadura presents 2027 draft budget exceeding 9 billion euros
The regional government of Extremadura has presented its 2027 draft budget, which is expected to exceed 9 billion euros, representing a 4.8% increase over the 2026 figures. The proposal, supported by the governing coalition of the PP and Vox, focuses on tax reductions, public service investment, and new social initiatives.
Key measures include a one-million-euro ‘Bono Retorno’ (Return Bonus) designed to attract new residents and encourage young people to settle in the region. Additionally, the budget allocates 500,000 euros to support self-employed workers during temporary disability and 504,000 euros to the ‘Crisol Rural’ program to aid the employment of vulnerable individuals in rural areas.
To address housing shortages, the budget expands tax benefits for property owners to encourage rental offerings and extends housing rehabilitation aid to the entire community. The plan also maintains investments in healthcare, education, and dependency services, while incorporating fiscal advantages for energy production to secure regional investment.
