Extremadura records lowest industrial price rise in Spain
Industrial prices in Extremadura rose by 5% in August compared to the previous year, marking the lowest increase among all Spanish autonomous communities. This figure is significantly lower than the national average increase of 13.2%.
Nationally, industrial prices have risen for six consecutive months, driven primarily by energy costs. Energy prices saw a 33.3% annual increase, fueled by higher costs in electricity, gas, and oil refining. Specifically, oil refining costs rose by 56.8% compared to August 2025, while electricity and gas supplies increased by 27%.
In contrast to the energy sector, the prices of non-durable consumer goods saw a slight annual decrease of 0.2%, largely due to falling prices in the manufacturing of vegetable and animal oils and fats.
