Extremadura seeks new industrial investments in China
A delegation from the Extremadura regional government in Spain visited Beijing to seek new investment and business collaboration opportunities within China. Led by the Counselor of Economy, Employment, and Digital Transformation, Guillermo Santamaría, the mission focused on connecting with major industrial companies.
One key contact was Weifang Walong Steel Structural, a company specializing in industrialized residential and tourist housing structures. The firm is currently exploring the possibility of finding a regional partner to establish a factory in Extremadura to supply the Spanish national market. The project is in its initial stages, with specific details regarding investment amounts, employment generation, or location not yet disclosed.
The delegation also met with China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), ranked as the world's largest contractor by Engineering News-Record. CSCEC already maintains a connection to the region as a supplier for Hunan Yuneng, which is currently developing an industrial project in Mérida.
