Extremadura to invest €11.5 million annually in AI administration
The regional government of Extremadura plans to allocate €11.5 million per year to a specialized service designed to simplify administrative procedures, automate tasks, and integrate artificial intelligence into the regional administration.
The project, to be known as the Office of Value, Acceleration, and Digital Impact (OVAD), will not be a physical office but will operate through a contract lasting an initial three years with the possibility of two annual extensions. The 2027 budget proposal reserves €5 million for the initial launch and the first partial year of activity. The government intends to begin the contracting process in early 2027, aiming to finalize it by mid-year.
By automating repetitive tasks and utilizing existing administrative data, the initiative seeks to reduce documentation requirements, speed up response times, and improve digital services for citizens, businesses, and public employees. The program will also promote regional digitalization and cybersecurity projects.
