Extremadura will announce 805 teaching positions for the 2027 recruitment process, marking the largest offering in the autonomous community in the last 20 years. Education and Vocational Training Counselor Sandra Valencia announced the measure following a meeting with unions in Mérida.

The selection process will cover various sectors, including Secondary Education, Vocational Training, Official Language Schools, Music and Performing Arts, and Plastic Arts and Design. The initiative aims to increase staff stability in public centers and reduce the use of temporary or emergency teaching assignments.

Secondary Education accounts for the majority of the vacancies, with 712 positions spread across 32 specialties. The most prominent areas include Educational Guidance (60), Mathematics (58), English (54), and Labor Training and Orientation (51).
