Extremadura water regulation fees proposed to vary significantly by system

The Tagus Hydrographic Confederation (CHT) has released proposed water regulation fees for 2027 in the Extremadura region, revealing significant disparities between different hydraulic systems. Under the new proposal, fees for the Mata de Alcántara system could rise by 36.82%, increasing from 0.687709 euros to 0.940900 euros per cubic meter.

In contrast, the Jerte system is expected to see a reduction of 20.78%, with rates dropping from 0.081616 euros to 0.064654 euros per cubic meter for supply and other uses. Similar decreases are proposed for the Ambroz system. These figures are currently in a public information period, allowing interested parties fifteen days to submit claims before the rates are finalized.
