Extreme battery life smartphones return to market

Modern smartphones typically feature battery capacities around 5,000 mAh, requiring frequent charging. However, new rugged devices are entering the market to replicate the long-lasting battery life characteristic of older models like the Nokia 3310.

Notable examples include the Oukitel WP19, which features a 21,000 mAh battery capable of lasting over three months in standby mode. Even more extreme is the Energizer Hard Case P28K, which boasts a 28,000 mAh battery. This device can remain in standby for up to 94 days or provide nearly five days of continuous talk time.

These high-capacity devices come with significant trade-offs in ergonomics. The Energizer model weighs 570 grams and is nearly three centimeters thick, making it much larger and heavier than standard modern smartphones.
