Extremo de las Américas documentary premieres
The documentary series “Extremo de las Américas” has premiered at the Centro Cultural La Moneda. Financed by the 2021 CNTV Fund, the six-part series is the first official co-production between Chile and Canada.
The documentary explores the human and territorial impacts of the climate crisis by focusing on the extreme northern and southern regions of the Americas, specifically the Canadian Arctic and Chilean Patagonia. Through personal testimonies and lived experiences, the project aims to illustrate how climate change affects ecosystems and indigenous communities.
Executive producer Camila Maureira noted the international standard of the production, while Chilevisión programming manager Consuelo Silva highlighted the importance of such large-scale content on open television.
