ExxonMobil vows Mozambican firms' role in Rovuma LNG project

ExxonMobil announced that Mozambican companies will be integrated into the supply chain of the Rovuma LNG megaproject in Cabo Delgado. The statement was made by Lauren Glushik, director of Public Affairs for ExxonMobil Mozambique, during a meeting with provincial officials on 24 May. Glushik said the company will organise regular events for local suppliers once the final investment decision is taken, and stressed that the development of national firms is essential for the project's success.

Provincial Governor Valige Tauabo reaffirmed the commitment of the Cabo Delgado Executive Council to work with partners to create a favourable environment for private‑sector growth, job creation and inclusive economic development. The announcement comes as Mozambique pursues three major LNG projects – the operational Coral South, the approved Coral North, and the Rovuma LNG venture – positioning the country as a leading African LNG producer.
