Eyal Zamir raises Israeli military readiness and reinforces West Bank forces

Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir has raised military readiness levels and warned of increasing possibilities for escalation across multiple fronts. During an operational assessment at the Central Command, Zamir announced the reinforcement of troops in the West Bank, including the deployment of the 98th Division, to enhance operational control and prepare for potential large-scale offensive operations.

Zamir stated that the frequency of security warnings on various fronts necessitates heightened vigilance to prevent surprise attacks. He emphasized that the military is prepared to transition to wide-scale offensive actions against any entity attempting to target Israeli citizens. The assessment included briefings from various division commanders and officials from the Shin Bet and Border Police.

During a field tour in the Judea area and Hebron, Zamir also addressed violence against civilians. He noted that attacks on innocent people do not reflect Israeli or Jewish values and stated that the military would take measures to ensure the safety of the olive harvest season while maintaining public order.
