EYDAP and Greek ministries launch water conservation school competition

The Greek Ministry of Education, Religion and Sports, the Ministry of Environment and Energy, and EYDAP have announced a joint initiative titled ‘Great Blue Mission: Children Save Water’. This nationwide school competition is scheduled for the 2026–2027 academic year and is specifically designed for students in the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades of primary school.

Rather than focusing on passive information, the program encourages students to act as researchers. Participants will be tasked with mapping water usage within their schools, recording data, conducting ‘hydro-checks’ to identify waste, and developing practical water conservation plans. The goal is to foster environmental awareness and sustainable resource management by involving students, their families, and local communities in active problem-solving.
