EYDAP awards 50.2 million euro wastewater project in Marathon

The Board of Directors of EYDAP has awarded a contract for the construction of the Marathon Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and transport pipelines to the consortium of ‘Gkoliopoulos A.T.E. - Giovanni Putignano & Figli S. R. L.’

The project, valued at approximately 50.2 million euros including VAT, was secured with an average discount of 17% during the bidding process. The scope of work includes sewage transport pumping stations, transport pipelines, the Marathon WWTP, a treated wastewater disposal pipeline, and a small hydroelectric project.

This infrastructure is considered a vital investment for environmental protection and the quality of life in the region. In its initial phase, the plant will serve 51,000 equivalent inhabitants, with the capacity to expand to serve up to 110,000 residents over the next 40 years. A 10-day period remains during which competitors may file appeals against the decision.
