EyeROV delivers India’s first military-grade ROVs to Indian Navy

Kochi-based marine robotics startup EyeROV has delivered two TROUT military-grade underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) systems to the Indian Navy. This marks the first time such military-grade ROVs have been built in India.

The TROUT platform is designed for mission-critical naval and subsea operations, including surveillance, reconnaissance, search and recovery, underwater inspection, and robotic intervention. The systems were developed under the iDEX (Innovations for Defence Excellence) DISC 7 SPRINT Challenge, an initiative aimed at fostering indigenous strategic technologies for the Indian Armed Forces.

This delivery is part of a larger order for five EyeROV TROUT systems. The project represents a transition from an indigenous defense innovation to a mission-ready platform, supporting India’s efforts to establish domestic capabilities in advanced underwater robotic technology.
