Turkey reports fatal bus fire and murder confession
Two separate tragic incidents have been reported in Turkey.
In Eyüpsultan, a passenger bus traveling from Diyarbakır caught fire after striking barriers on the Northern Marmara Highway. The accident resulted in the deaths of two children, Yüsra Seraç (12) and Nazlıhan Seraç (10), who succumbed to their injuries after a period of medical treatment. Only their 7-year-old brother survived the crash.
In a separate criminal case, the body of 54-year-old Ayşegül Yaşar was discovered in a forested area in the Andırın district of Kahramanmaraş. Yaşar had been missing since August 26 after leaving her home in Osmaniye. A suspect, identified as T. K., was apprehended in Kahramanmaraş and has confessed to strangling Yaşar in a vehicle before burying her with her hands tied. The suspect also admitted to stealing the victim's gold.
