ČEZ Group opens historic hydroelectric plants for 90th anniversary tours
ČEZ Group is opening two historic hydroelectric power plants to the public to celebrate their 90th anniversaries. Both facilities, which began operations in 1936, are part of the company's long-standing energy infrastructure.
The Vrané nad Vltavou plant, the oldest and final downstream component of the Vltava Cascade, will host public tours on September 12 and September 19. The plant produces approximately 60 million kWh of emission-free electricity annually, enough to power about 20,000 households.
The Střekov hydroelectric plant on the Elbe River will open to the public on September 12 as part of the European Heritage Days. Visitors can tour the control room, machine room, and outdoor areas, including the switchyard.
Both sites require prior registration via the ‘Svět energie’ website for organized group tours.
