Ezel Süzgün: 14-year-old rises from waiter to chef in Adapazarı

Ezel Süzgün, a 14-year-old working in a meatball restaurant in the historic Uzun Çarşı district of Adapazarı, Sakarya, has risen from a waiter to a chef during his summer break.

Following in his father's footsteps, Süzgün chose to work rather than stay home during the holidays. He has gained responsibilities including preparing peppers and kneading and cooking meatballs. His long-term ambitions include attending a vocational high school to study culinary arts and participating in the MasterChef program to become ‘the best chef in Turkey’.

Süzgün uses his weekly earnings of 1,000 lira toward his goals; having already purchased a bicycle with his savings, he is currently saving for an electric bicycle.
